Notes for the person who has to justify the budget. No listicles, no filler, mostly things I got wrong before I got them right.
Your Google Ads aren't converting, and five of the six reasons are settings
Most Google Ads conversion problems are settings, not strategy. Six checks with the exact click path, including two exclusion levers that landed in 2026.
Read it →Stop asking your agency why the numbers went up. Ask what they can't see
Most monthly agency reports aren't evidence. Google stopped showing which conversions were measured. Four questions that separate real work from theatre.

Allowing GPTBot is not what makes ChatGPT cite you. Here is the crawler that does, how to test whether you are being quoted, and what to fix this week.

Marketing is running. Revenue is not moving.
Almost every company I have worked in or alongside is doing marketing. Posts go out, ads run, somebody writes blogs. The problem is that nothing is connected, so nobody can say which activity produced which rupee, and the budget gets defended rather than directed. Most of what I write here comes out of that gap.
Traffic without conversion
The site gets visitors and nothing happens. Usually the traffic is the wrong audience, or the page never asks for anything specific.
Ad spend without attribution
Money goes into Google and Meta every month. Nobody can trace a single closed deal back to a campaign, so the budget is a matter of faith.
Leads sales will not call
Marketing reports lead volume, sales says the leads are junk, and both are right, because no one agreed what qualified means.
My expertise
What I write about
Six disciplines I have spent a decade inside. Each page collects the pattern I keep running into and what actually moves the number.
SEO
Most sites do not have an SEO problem. They have three at once, and fixing one without the other two is why the work appears to stall.
Notes on SEO →AISEO
AISEO is not a separate discipline from SEO. It is SEO done with more discipline about structure and more honesty about substance.
Notes on AISEO →Performance Marketing
Ad accounts rarely fail because of bidding. They fail on audience, creative and the landing page, in that order.
Notes on Performance Marketing →Social Media Marketing
Posting consistently and getting nothing back is a content mix problem, not a frequency problem.
Notes on Social Media Marketing →Content Marketing
Content fails at one of two ends: nobody defined the audience precisely enough, or nobody planned how it would be read.
Notes on Content Marketing →Lead Generation
Most lead generation problems are qualification problems wearing a different hat.
Notes on Lead Generation →Marketing & Sales Alignment
Marketing reports lead volume, sales says the leads are junk, and both are right, because nobody wrote down what qualified means.

Diagnose first. Spend second.
The habit that has served me best: never pick a channel before looking at what is already running. The audit usually finds enough waste to fund the fix.
- 01
Diagnose
Look at what is already running — site, analytics, ad accounts, content and the sales handover — and find where the money is leaking. This is where most of the answer is.
- 02
Decide
Pick the channel and the audience, and name the single number the work is being held to. Written down, so it cannot quietly change later.
- 03
Do
Ship it. Campaigns built, pages fixed, content published. Most plans fail in this step, not in the planning.
- 04
Review
Check against the number. What works gets more, what does not gets cut. No channel is protected because it was somebody’s idea.
Portfolio
Work I am proud of
Across organic produce, deep-tech manufacturing and an international art brand.
Industries
Categories I have worked in
The method transfers across categories. What changes is the audience research and how long the buying cycle runs.
FAQ
Questions I get asked
Who is Vikram M A A?
I am a digital marketing and go-to-market specialist based in Bengaluru, India, with 10+ years across SEO, Google and Meta ads, social media, content marketing and lead generation. This site is my personal blog and portfolio.
Are you available for freelance or consulting work?
No. I work full time under contract and I am not taking on outside work, so nothing on this site is an offer of services. If you would like to know how your GTM or digital marketing issue could be solved, reach out by email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp or a call, and we can have a quick chat about it.
What do you write about here?
SEO, paid media, organic social, content, lead generation and AI search — written for the person who has to justify the budget. Most posts come out of something I ran, got wrong, or watched happen in an account.
What is in the portfolio?
Work from earlier in my career: organic social for an organic produce brand, lead generation and content for a drone manufacturer, and content marketing for an art brand in Canada. Each entry describes the problem, what was done and what it produced.
How do you approach a marketing problem?
Diagnose before spending. Look at the site, the analytics, the ad accounts, the content and the handover between marketing and sales, and find where the money is leaking before recommending a new channel. The problem is usually not where people assume it is.
Where are you based?
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Most of the work I have done has been remote or hybrid, across India and internationally, including a Canadian brand.
Say hello
Stuck on a GTM or marketing problem?
This site is a blog and a portfolio, not a shop. I am working full time under contract and I am not taking on outside work. That said, if you would like to know how your GTM or digital marketing issue could be solved, feel free to reach out — email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp or a call, whichever is easiest.
